Dan Vadis was born
Constantine Daniel Vafiadis in Shanghai, China, on January 3, 1938. He
got his break in show business in the Mae West Revue, West's famous bodybuilder
troupe, along with Gordon Mitchell, Mickey Hargitay, and Reg Lewis. But
Vadis would have to wait six years before taking on his first film role,
in the 1962 classic Colossus of the Arena with Mark Forest. His friend
Gordon Mitchell brought him to Italy to take advantage of the Italian
fusto explosion. After the sword and sandal films faded he moved into
spaghetti westerns, then became a recurring face in Clint Eastwood westerns
such as "High Plains Drifter". He died 11 June 1987 in Lancaster, California,
USA, in a car in the desert (accidental drug overdose; acute ethanol and
heroin-morphine intoxication)
I saw him for the first time in Spartacus and the 10 Gladiators on late
night TV. The movie casts a bunch of muscular men, and is full of testosterone
ooze. Dan stands above all because of his rugged boyish face, blueish
green eyes, cement hard body, and of course his spectacular nipples! I
always wanted to give those perennially hard nips needed attention viciously.
Just imagine such an hot man standing bare chested right in front of you,
