Ennis and Jack meet
in 1963 when they are hired to heard sheep across Brokeback Mountain in
Wyoming. At first it appears there is nothing between them as they tend
to just work and sleep on opposites sides of the mountain. One night Ennis
is sleeping Jack's camp and the temperature drops down to freezing. Jack
invites Ennis to sleep in his tent and that begins the strat of their
long love affair. Although Ennis is engaged to be married, so when their
hearding jod is done they go back to the way their lives were before.
Ennis marries Alma and they have two daughters. Jack marries Lureen a
rodeo queen who is also the daughter of a wealthy farm equipment dealer.
The two men meet up every summer on Brokeback Mountain and continue their
affair for over 20 years.
They met when they were 19 years old, and meet every 4 years for 20 years.
How so pure, romantic and unrealistic! This movie is very charming as
it portrays beautiful sceneries, music and cowboy myth. Ang Lee is smart
enough to inspire homosexuality into cowboy culture. There is something
mystique about them so they can transcend sexual borders. The whole ambiance
is like a fairy tale which is less offensive and more appealing to the
majority. Their kiss scene is one of the most memorable monuments in cinema
